Using thoughts to create better relationships

Choose one person or a relationship that challenges your patience and well being. Then practice treating them with love, compassion and consideration. It doesn’t have to be anything that seems unrealistic, rather something that shows them that you care. Maybe a phone call, getting a cup of tea or just looking them in the eye and saying good morning or asking sincerely” how are you” today.

A great way to prepare yourself for this is to take a moment close your eyes and visualize the interaction and see their response as you show them that you care

Remember every person likes to be liked !!!!!

Reflections

Begin either laying or sitting down, close your eyes and notice how your breath is moving in and out. Like the ocean’s waves.  Do this for a couple of minutes.

Next  look into a mirror see your reflection,  become aware of every little feature – expression, posture, eyes, energy, attitude etc……  Take your time  3-5 minutes

Then notice how  this reflection changes when you are happy, confident and content. Again see every feature. The eyes, face, the way you stand and look etc…. 3-5 min

Now think of a recent time or situation when you felt bad, depressed, stuck or not happy. Really taste this experience through your  senses. 3-5 min

After a couple of minutes freeze this negative moment and then go back to the positive reflection when you were happy, confident and content.

let the new image feed you and notice that your attitude, energy and actions have become positive based on seeing yourself in this way. Of course the outcome would also change

Remember we can’t change the environment around us, per say. But we can sure change the way we react. Empower Yourself!

rock in a hard place

  • TODAY’S MEDITATION BEGINS : EITHER SIT OR LAY DOWN IN A COMFORTABLE POSITION.PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BREATH FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES: INHALE AND EXHALE .
  • BEGIN TO ATTACH A  COLOR TO YOUR BREATH BASED ON YOUR MIND AND  MOOD. DO THIS FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES: REMEMBER BE PATIENT WITH YOURSELF.
  • START TO VISUALIZE A BUCKET THAT HAS TEN ROCKS IN IT: USE YOUR IMAGINATION, NOTICE THE DIFFERENT SHAPES, SIZES AND COLORS THEY POSSESS
  • NOW ASSIGN FIVE  POSITIVE  TRAITS TO FIVE ROCKS IN THE BUCKET- THESE COULD BE QUALITIES YOU HAVE OR ONES THAT YOU ARE WORKING ON.
  • ASSIGN THE OTHER FIVE ROCKS  CHARACTERISTICS THAT HINDER YOUR SELF GROWTH.
  • SLOWLY BEGIN TO SEPARATE THE GOOD ROCKS FROM THE BAD ONES, PLACE THEM INTO TWO DIFFERENT BUCKETS
  • TAKE A COUPLE OF DEEP BREATHS AND START TO SEE HOW YOUR BODY, MIND AND THOUGHTS CHANGE AS A RESULT OF ATTAINING THESE FIVE HEALTHY QUALITIES AND DISCARDING THE UNHEALTHY ONES.
  • CARRY  THIS POSITIVE IMAGE OF YOURSELF WITH THESE ROCKS IN YOUR POSSESSION THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
  • NAMASTE

Create space between your thoughts

I feel on many occasions that we hustle and bustle through life ,” like Ants Marching”, as Dave Mathews has said. Begin each day by making a commitment to slow down, settle your mind and fine space between your thoughts and actions.

Good Monday morning. Glad you joined us. Take a few minutes and think about or see how you want your week to go. Like preparing for a game, make sure you have a great plan and then let everything you say and do reinforce that . If along the way there are some fumbles or fouls.Remember to get back in the batters box.
